Symphony "Maestro in the Spotlight" concerts this weekend

The North State Symphony and new Music Director Scott Seaton will perform in both Chico and Redding this weekend.
The concert is called "Maestro in the Spotlight" and will feature a program of music that ranges from the 18th to 21st centuries.
The major work on the program is the music from Bernstein's "West Side Story," in an orchestral version which Bernstein titled "Symphonic Dances." The show also featured some fantastic dance music, much of it to Latin rhythms.
Brianna Ruiz, the winner of the 2015 Young Artist Audition high school division, will also perform with the symphony.

The concerts take place on Saturday, November 14th at 7:30 p.m. in Laxson Auditorium on the CSU, Chico campus.
And at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 15th in Redding's Cascade Theatre.
One hour before each performance, Scott Seaton will present a free pre-concert talk.
