The fire broke out around noon, near Swedes Flat Road and Stoney Oaks Loop, three miles north of Bangor. The fire jumped initial containment lines around 1:30 p.m. and grew rapidly.
Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for residents along Stoney Oaks Loop, Stoney Oaks Boulevard and Gold Mountain Road, Obert Drive, and Gaston Booth Drive.
An evacuation advisory has been issued for residents on Swedes Flat Road, between Chinese Wall Road and Rob Mill Road extending north to Verner Oaks Drive. An evacuation center has been set up at the Church of the Nazarene at 2238 Monte Vista Avenue.
