The Tehama County Sheriff’s Office says both suspicious devices found in Red Bluff this morning have been rendered safe.
Authorities locked down the Tehama County Courthouse in Red Bluff this morning after two suspicious devices, appearing to be pipe bombs were found around 6: 30 a.m.
A Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputy found the first device while making his morning security rounds, and a second device was brought to the Red Bluff police department after being found by a citizen walking in the area.
The Tehama County Sheriff’s Officer were the first on the scene and called in the Shasta County bomb squad around 7:00 a.m. The bomb squad used a water cannon test to determine the devices at the police station and courthouse are "safe" and it will not explode.
Police say the man who brought the device to the police station is not a suspect.
Authorities say the suspicious devices were determined to be fake bombs.
