Emergency responders swarmed the 300 block of Salem Street after a suspicious package was found near the Pacific Gas and Electric customer service building Monday morning.

Authorities responded to the parking lot by Bidwell Chapel and PG&E just after 11 a.m., but quickly deemed the package safe. The suspicious device in question was determined to be a nylon lunch bag.

The PG&E building was briefly evacuated, but has since been lifted.
