Suspects questioned in CA movie theater leaf-blower panic

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Four people have surrendered as Newport Beach police search for suspects who terrorized a movie theater audience with a leaf blower that many mistook for a chain saw.

Police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella tells the Orange County Register ( ) on Wednesday that the three male and one female suspect range in age from 15 to 20 years. She says they are being questioned and cooperating, but have yet to be charged with any crime.

They turned themselves in a day after police circulated surveillance photos of four people at an In-N-Out burger that may have been behind the incident.

Three people were in injured in the panicked race to the exits of the Saturday night screening of the psychological thriller "The Gift."

The suspects fled moments later through an emergency exit.
