Suspects Appear in Two Separate Child Death Cases

Suspects appeared before a Tehama County Superior Court Judge Tuesday in in two cases involving the deaths of children.
22-year-old Brandon Branscombe of Red Bluff pleaded Not Guilty to a charge of murdering his girlfriend's baby.
Branscombe remains in jail with bail set at one-million dollars following his arrest in May.
Investigators say the eight-month-old boy was beaten over the head with two separate objects while his mother was at work.
Prosecutors told Action News Now that Branscombe may face an additional count of torture.
He will be back in court in August to set a date for a preliminary hearing.
Also Tuesday, Daniel Llamas pleaded Not Guilty to a felony child abuse charge in the death of his fiance's toddler.
Llamas and the child's mother, Isabelle Rios, are both charged in her 13-month-old son's death ... in September of last year.
An autopsy showed the boy died from internal injuries caused by blunt force trauma to the abdomen.
Llamas will be back in court for a preliminary hearing next month.
Rios has also pleaded not guilty and will also be in court next month to set a date for trial. ###
