Suspected DUI driver crashes into power pole in Paradise

A Paradise man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly driving drunk and crashing into two power poles, causing nearby homes and Feather River Hospital to lose power.

Paradise police say around 12:15 a.m. 47-year-old Todd Brown was driving his Chevrolet Suburban near the intersection of Pentz and Billie Roads when he lost control and ran into two power poles, knocking them over.

Despite suffering moderate injuries, Brown attempted to flee the scene, but was found a short time later. He was taken to the hospital and then arrested.

According to the Pacific Gas and Electric outage map, 78 customers are still without power and serivce is not expected to be restored until 2 p.m. Feather River Hospital however had their power restored early Tuesday morning.
