Suspected DUI Driver Arrested after striking pedestrian in Paradise

A Paradise woman has been arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence after she struck a vehicle and a pedestrian Saturday afternoon.
According to Paradise Police, the vehicle verses pedestrian accident was reported just after 4:00 p.m. on the 6400 block of Skyway.
Police say Lori McIntyre, 55, from Paradise was driving a Jeep Liberty when she rear ended a Subaru, while the driver of the Subaru was attempting to get out of the car, McIntyre accelerated forward, the force of the collision knocked the driver of the Subaru to the ground and striking parked vehicles.
An off duty Paradise Police officer saw the driver of the Subaru on the street and the Jeep Liberty spinning its rear tires attempting to move forward, pushing the Subaru.
The off duty officer pulled out his weapon in fear of the life of the pedestrian and ordered McIntyre to put the vehicle in park.
The investigation revealed McIntyre was intoxicated during the time of the collision and she was placed under arrest and charged with DUI causing great bodily injury, according to the press release.
McIntyre was booked into the Butte County Jail.
The driver of the Subaru was transported to Enloe Medical Center with moderate injuries.
