Police say a Redding woman was under the influence of alcohol when the car she was driving crossed over the double-yellow line and collided with a 78-year-old Redding man.

According to Redding police, 37-year-old Haley Walund was driving northbound on Eastside Road around 8:15 p.m. when her 2002 Acura crossed over the center line and collided with a Chrysler sedan driven by 78-year-old John O'Neill.

Walund and O'Neill were both transported to Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The case will be submitted to the District Attorney's office for prosecution. Eastside Road was closed for about an hour while the collision was being investigated.
