A suspected car burglar is behind bars, accused in an over-night break-in at a Downtown Chico parking structure. Police say the 2005 Subaru was parked at a city owned structure at 329 Main Street.

Among other things, several blank checks were stolen. Late Tuesday morning, officers were called to Check Cashers on Mangrove Avenue where the alleged thief was trying to cash one of the stolen checks.

Officers arrested 23-year-old Justin Nelson who reportedly had stuffed another of the stolen checks in his sock. So far, none of the other items stolen from the car have been recovered.
