Suspect still on the loose following shooting in Redding

Redding Police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital. It happened a little before 8:30 p.m. Saturday night. The victim, Brent Posada, told police he was standing on the sidewalk on Hilltop Drive near Peppertree Lane when a man approached him and pointed a handgun at him. Posada reportedly tried to push the suspect's arm out of the way, that's when the gun went off. Posada suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was treated and released from the hospital. The suspect took off on foot. Posada told police that the man didn't say anything to him and didn't take anything. The suspect is described as a black man in his mid to late 20's. He is about 6’ tall, 185 pounds with black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black high top shoes with silver stripes.
