HANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Police in Central California were searching for a man suspected of beating a 16-year-old girl with a tire iron and raping her over the course of five days.
Hanford police said Saturday that 19-year-old Eddie Perez tied up the girl and beat her during the assault.
KFSN-TV reports officers went to a car on Friday and found the badly injured teen. Police said she lost the use of her legs and couldn't leave the vehicle. A passerby heard her screaming and called police.
The victim was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery.
The Fresno Bee reports she suffered a broken arm and possibly other broken bones.
