The bicyclist shot by a Redding Police officer remains in serious condition tonight.

35-year-old Robert Barron was shot in the chest during a struggle with an officer who was trying to take him into custody for an outstanding warrant.

It happened at 2 a.m. Thursday, near the Oxford Suites, at Hilltop Drive and Mistletoe Lane.

26 year old Alexander Restuchi of Redding was with Barron, but police officials say he was cooperative, and he was cited for an outstanding warrant and released. The shooting is being investigated by the Shasta County Sheriff's Department.
