The Tehama County man accused of killing his ex-wife and former father-in-law appeared in court for the second time Tuesday, but still has not entered a plea.
It was announced in court Tuesday that Noonkester has agreed to a time waiver and is not expected to enter a plea until he appears in court again August 4.
Noonkester is accused of opening fire at the Little Country Store, in the gated community of Lake California in Cottonwood. He allegedly killed his ex-wife Kimberlee Thomas, 29, and her 53-year-year-old father Keith Thomas.
Court records show the couple had been divorced in March, and were in the midst of a child custody dispute.
He is being held without bail, and was issued a restraining order during his initial court appearance last week barring him from having contact with his children.
If convicted, Noonkester could be sentenced to death.
