A Paradise man was arrested by police Monday morning, just moments after he allegedly robbed an Oroville gas station at gunpoint.

According to the Oroville Police Department, 51-year-old Patrick Patterson walked into the Beacon Gas Station on Oro Dam Boulevard at 7:07 a.m. and held the clerk at gunpoint.

The clerk backed away and Patterson stole a few hundred dollars from the cash register before fleeing in a truck parked at the car wash just behind the gas station.

Police were given a description of the truck and caught up with Patterson just down the road.

No injuries were reported, and Patterson has been booked into the Butte County Jail on felony armed robbery charges.
