Suspect arrested in connection with sheriff's training grounds burglary

The Butte County Sheriff's Office and Cal Fire investigators have arrested a man they say stole more than $30,000 worth of life saving equipment the Butte County Sheriff's Office Training Grounds.

The burglary, which happened on April 18, at the training grounds Openshaw Road off Highway 49, left firefighters without rescue, emergency and construction equipment.

Shawn Robertson was arrested after an investigation on Wednesday.

Investigators have not commented as to how they identified Robertson as a suspect, or if he is a suspect in the theft of more than $36,000 worth of tools and supplies from Butte County Volunteer Fire Station near Butte College.
