Surveillance video from a central California Motel 6 shows the man and woman suspected in the deaths of two children just days before the kids were found in a Redding storage unit.
The video, from a Motel 6 in Dunnigan, shows Tami Joy Huntsman, 39, and Gonzalo Curiel, 17, in the hotel lobby. The clerk says the couple requested two separate rooms.
A few minutes later, the video shows Huntsman and Curiel driving their Toyota 4Runner around the building to rooms 165 and 166. From the video it cannot be determined if the couple enters the same or separate rooms, but it is certain that no children can be seen in the video.
Authorities say Huntsman and Curiel left their home in Salinas on November 27, and stopped at the motel that night. They also stopped in Redding, Shingletown and finally Quincy.
In Quincy, they were staying with a friend and were contacted by authorities who were investigating reports of a neglected child.
The investigation led to a 9-year-old girl found Friday suffering from neglect and abuse, and later, two small children dead in the Redding storage unit.
Redding police say 3-year-old Delylah Tara and 6-year-old Shaun Tara were in Huntsman’s custody, and have not been seen in at least two weeks.
