After four days of wet weather, it was nice to see the sun today! We'll see more of that this week, before wet weather returns Sunday.
We saw a LOT of rain over the past four days, but it's looking like we'll get a break this week. Most areas in the Valley saw between 2" and 5" of rain since Thursday, with 6" to 8" on the Ridge! High pressure will return this week, and that will warm Valley highs up to the 70's by Wednesday through Friday. Very nice weather for St. Patrick's Day!
High pressure will break down this weekend. Clouds will roll in on Saturday, and we'll see a few showers on Sunday, maybe more on Monday. This new storm doesn't look nearly as wet as the most recent ones, but it still should add a little to the snowpack and lower elevation lakes. Both Lake Oroville and Shasta Lake are now 100% of average! They're where they should be for middle of March... an amazing comeback since December! Lake Oroville has risen 180 feet since around Christmas... wow!
