Patchy frost, breezy North winds, and mostly clear skies are ahead for the north state today. Temperatures are starting out a little warmer in the northern end of the valley where North winds have been more prevalent. Mid valley areas are starting out in the low to mid 30's, and the northern end of the valley is starting out in the high 30's to low 40's. Cities in the Northern Sierra have dipped into the low teens to mid 20's, and the Northern Mountains have dipped into the high 20's to mid 30's. Afternoon high temperatures will climb into the mid to high 50's in the valley, and into the high 20's to mid 40's in the mountains. Winds will be out of the North from 10 to 15mph with gusts up to 25mph.
Clouds will begin to increase across the region tomorrow, and the potential for showers will return as early as Wednesday night. The best potential for rain and snow will return to the region on Friday, and last through at least Monday. Temperatures will become a bit milder overnight as the showers return, but afternoon high temperatures will not fluctuate much through the start of next week. I hope everyone stays warm on this chilly morning, and has a great Tuesday!
