Cloudy with a few showers around the North State on Monday. That will give way to sunshine just in time for St. Patrick's Day!
Plenty of cloud cover around northern California on Monday, as a juicy plume of subtropical moisture remains pointed at us. The problem is squeezing the moisture out from the clouds... There just hasn't been much wet weather south of Red Bluff. This plume will slip eastward overnight, and skies will turn mostly sunny in the Valley on Tuesday. That will allow high temperatures to warm into the 70's... a nice St. Patrick's Day for us! As high pressure strengthens a bit over the next few days, look for highs in the Valley to be near 80 by Thursday.
This ridge will break back down again after that, allowing our temperatures to cool down some this weekend... Although it should still be mild. Longer range models are trying to bring wet weather back into the North State next week, but that's been a repeating trend this winter... They suggest a nice storm about a week or two out, and then they fine tune it drier as it gets closer. Let's keep our fingers crossed for next week.
