It was cloudy & cooler day for most of the North State on Monday... overall a very nice day! It felt much more like October than August... and we'll continue that Tuesday! A big surge of monsoon moisture has arrived, and should even bring showers to the Sierra Nevada overnight and Tuesday, and could bring a few scattered showers elsewhere around our area, even the Valley (although it wouldn't be much). This will naturally keep our temperatures down again on Tuesday, so look for another comfortable day (with maybe even a shower!). Any kind of rain in the Burney Basin would be wonderful news for the firefighters fighting the Eiler, Bald and Day fires up there.
The moisture will slowly thin out later this week, leading to partly cloudy skies Wednesday then mostly sunny skies by Thursday. There will still be enough moisture to spark a few thunderstorms in the mountains later this week. Temperatures will return to average for this time of year by this upcoming weekend.
