Summer baseball in Chico fast approaching

The countdown.... and the Heat is on!

Summer baseball is coming back to Chico and the Heat want to make this the best year ever for you and the new team.

The inaugural season of Great West League kicks off in less than one month.

The Chico Heat will be joined by the Sacramento Stealth, Medford Rogues, Portland Pickles, Lodi Crushers and Marysville Gold Sox in the collegiate wood bat league.

Heat Assistant General Manger George Laver says they've been hard at work recruiting top talent to wear the Heat uniforms this summer.

University of Washington pitcher Adam Davenport, UC Davis slugger Cameron Olsen and Hawaii Pacific outfielder Tanner Tokunaga are among the group that have already committed to the Heat.

The squad will report on May 28th.

Chico's first game will be June 3rd at Marysville. The home opener is set for Saturday, June 4th against Marysville. A fireworks will take place after the game concludes.

Single game tickets are set to go on sale May 16th.
