Jan 29, 2015 7:25 PM by Ross Field

This week's Subway Scholar Athlete is ranked at the top of her class. Lili Flores rarely takes a break from her busy schedule, yet never misses a beat in the athletic arena. Action News Now's Ross Field filed this report.

"I just try to always do my best," said Lili Flores.

Not only does she try, she succeeds.

This Durham High School senior takes two AP courses and her 4.4 GPA ranks her at the top of her class.

She's made high honor roll every single marking period. One time she got a "B" and she was upset.

"I was kind of frustrated wih myself and disappointed that I couldn't get that up, but now it's okay," said Flores.

She's also the senior class President and she's a member of several clubs, including California Scholastic Federation. She's a busy girl and all the activities help her stay on top of her game.

"I've never really procrastinated on stuff, I just hate having that feeling, and I think all the things that I'm involved with helps make sure that I don't procrastinate on things," said Flores.

Flores plays volleyball and basketball for the Trojans. She's won section titles in both sports. Even though she says she's not a superstar, she's a valuable asset. She's willing to do the little things and contributes in a variety of ways.

"Everything about it is just fun, even though I'm not like the best on the court, it's fun to be a part of the team. As long as I can make some kind of contribution I'll be happy with myself," said Flores.

In the future Flores would like to attend to Cal Poly and she wants to become a lawyer.
