Winds will be picking up today, and that will spell an increase in fire danger for your Wednesday forecast. South winds will be sustained at around 10 to 15mph, and will be gusting to around 25mph in some of the northern zones this afternoon. That's especially bad news for those fighting the Boles Fire in Weed. However, we do have some good news in your fire weather watch as well. An increase in moisture, and decrease in temperatures are ahead for your Wednesday, and Thursday. Temperatures will dip as low as the high 70's to low 80's for the valley on Thursday, and into the high 60's to mid 70's for the mountains that day. Showers will also be in the forecast for most of northern California in your Thursday forecast. Most areas will see around a tenth of an inch, with the Northern Mountains possibly getting as much as a quarter of an inch.
