A week after a powerful storm slammed into the North State two sections of Highway 162 in Glenn and Butte counties remain closed due to flooding.

Triggered by rain-swollen creeks and irrigation canals, the closures could continue into Wednesday, depending on the weather. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes. Here are the following closures:

• A 1.5-mile section of Highway 162 between 1st Street in Willows and County Road P in Glenn County.

• A 4-mile section of Highway 162 between County Road Z in Glenn County and Aguas Frias Road in Butte County - about nine miles west of Highway 99.

Additionally there are three other roads closed in Butte County. In Oroville, Darby Road is closed at Low Water Crossing, and in Gridley Afton Road is closed at the Butte Creek Bridge while Colusa Highway is closed from Cherokee to the county line.
