It was a beautiful day around the North State on Friday, with sunshine and mild temperatures. That will all change Saturday, as a potent Fall storm will arrive with rain & wind.
The same plume of moisture that brought us rain on Thursday will get pushed back into the North State on Saturday by a developing area of low pressure moving towards us. This low has moderately deep surface pressure, which will cause gusty south winds. Look for 35 to 40 mph gusts in the Valley, with higher gusts over the Sierra ridgetops and in the Shasta Valley. Chico is looking at around 1/2" of rain, while Redding and the Ridge are both looking at about 1" of rain.
The storm will move east by Sunday, meaning we'll see the sun return. We'll see a mix of sun and clouds next week with warming temperatures, and Halloween next Friday looks nice for the little ghosts and goblins. Our next storm is due in next Saturday, and it looks like another wet & windy one as well!
Enjoy the rain Saturday!
