Storm makes for treacherous North State Road conditions

Roadways in the area are slick and wet conditions have forced the closure of several roads.

In Chico a tree on Rio Lindo Avenue has reportedly knocked down power lines forcing the closure of the road near the Esplanade and Nord Gianella Road at Folsom Street is closed due to flooding.

Capay Road and Craig Avenue in Tehama County are currently closed due to flooding, along with Flores Avenue from Interstate 5 to Highway 99. Officials have also issued a high wind advisory along I-5 in Siskiyou County from Weed to Yreka.

In Glenn County, five roads are currently closed due to water on the roadway, according to the counties website. They are CR 35 from CR D to CR H, CR 35 from Highway 99 to County Road H, CR G from Newville Road to County Road 9 and County Road 25 from County Road F to County Road H.

People are encouraged not to drive through flooded roads, during last week's flooding in Tehama County, several motorists became stranded trying to make it through flooded roads.
