Tehama County sheriff's deputies recovered a stolen van and stolen property Sunday night, after a woman allegedly drove the stolen vehicle to jail to visit her husband.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies took a report of a stolen van from Northern California Child Development Inc. around 12:30 p.m. Sunday and issued a "Be on the lookout" call.
About six hours later the stolen van was spotted near the Tehama County Jail. Deputies watched the area for a few minutes and saw a woman get into the van, they immediately approached the van and took the woman into custody.
The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Michelle Noland, had reportedly been at the jail visiting her husband, who was arrested earlier in the week for suspicion of vehicle theft, burglary, and attempting to run from the police in a stolen vehicle.
Noland was arrested for burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of multiple prescription medications (she had 45 methadone tablets without a prescription). She was booked into the Tehama County Jail.
