Stolen vehicle, property recovered in Chico; suspects arrested

Chico Police recovered a vehicle reported stolen out of Oroville and located stolen property while responding to a burglary Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to a vehicle burglary in progress at the Safeway on Mangrove around 2 p.m. Sunday. When officers arrived they spotted the suspects getaway vehicle exiting the parking lot and police quickly detained both suspects in the vehicle.

The suspect's vehicle returned as stolen and inside officers discovered stolen property and tools.

The driver, 28-year-old Robert Worthy of Oroville, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and possession of burglary tools. The passenger 26-year-old Oroville resident Sonia Meadows was arrested and charged as an accessory to the stolen vehicle.

Both suspects were booked into the Butte County Jail.
