Still more rain tomorrow

Wild weather Thursday! The day started with strong, gusty winds for most of us. Redding gusted to 63 mph, Red Bluff had 54 mph gusts and Chico had 46 mph gusts... everyone else saw a bit less. The winds diminished quickly, as low pressure which was causing the winds moved north to Washington.

The rain, however, kept going all day. Most areas in the Valley picked up 3 to 4 inches of rain! Chico and Oroville saw even a bit more, and this caused widespread flooding throughout the North State. The rain should continue tonight as the Atmospheric River slowly moves south... but not out of our area until tomorrow. By Friday, we'll see just a few showers as things begin to dry up some. Look for a mix of sun and clouds this weekend, but no rain. A little more sun on Saturday, after some morning fog burns off.

Our next series of storms arrive Monday. Look for light rain both Monday and Tuesday, but it won't be nearly as much as today's soaker. We may dry out to finish off next week.
