The heat was on again around the North State, with most Valley highs on Tuesday ranging between 100 and 104. With both high pressure and the delta breeze changing very little through the weekend, look for the heat to continue!
Just enough monsoon moisture remains in place over northern California to spark afternoon thunderstorms in the mountains. These storms will dissipate after sunset, but should reform again Wednesday & Thursday afternoons in the mountains. The main threat from them will be locally heavy rain and lightning, but most should remain in remote locations. These storms will dry up by the weekend.
High pressure may weaken just a bit next week, leading to a slight cooldown.
