Staying hot across the north state, but temperatures will fall short of what we had on Tuesday.
The valley will have afternoon high temperatures ranging between 96 to 101 degrees, and the mountains will have low to mid 90's.
Mostly sunny skies will cover the region today, but we will also have a slight threat of thunderstorms ahead for the Northern Mountains. Those thunderstorms could produce dry lightning, which significantly increases the risk of fires being sparked in remote areas.
We will continue to see temperatures in today's range through your 4th of July, and on into your weekend.
Extreme heat will return for the beginning of next week.
I hope everyone enjoys the modest cool down ahead for today, and has a wonderful Wednesday!
