State Route 299 at Buckhorn Summit in Shasta County is back open Thursday morning after a land slide closed the roadway earlier in the week.
- In the Big French Gulch area the road is now open at night (for the time being) with one way controlled traffic.
-On the Buckhorn Summit, Caltrans is still doing work in the westbound passing lane, but it is intermittent traffic control. Drivers will see the area coned off. Caltrans is as drivers to please use caution when moving through this area.
These are both barring any other issues that may come with tonight’s storm.

Cal Trans reported another land slide Tuesday on State Route 299 at Buckhorn Summit in Shasta County.

Officials said the slide occurred three miles from the bottom of the summit. Traffic is moving slowly through one lane, according to Cal Trans.

Clean up crews said they expect to close the number 2 westbound lane for debris removal Tuesday night.
