A stabbing at a Texas hospital Tuesday morning has killed one person and injured four others, according to the medical center.
A male suspect has been taken into custody, NBC affiliate KETK.com reported.
The victim who died was an employee of Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, a city in the eastern part of the state near the border with Louisiana. Another employee was among those who were hurt; the three others with injuries were visitors.
One of the wounded was in critical condition, according to the hospital, and three were in good condition.
Good Shepherd CEO Steve Altmiller called the stabbing "an isolated incident."
"All victims were taken to the emergency center for assessment and treatment. This was an isolated incident that was diligently handled by the Longview Police Department and our Good Shepherd response team," he said in a statement.
The stabbing happened at about 7 a.m. local time in the Ambulatory Surgical Center, across the street from the main hospital.
Names of the suspect and victims were not immediately released. Longview police were investigating the stabbing.
