"A Night at the Beach" is the theme of the Glenn Medical Foundation's 2015 Splendor in the Valley . The event takes place September 12th at the Big W Ranch near Orland.
Over the past 12 years Splendor in the Valley has raised more than $500,000 to help fund the expansion of services at Glenn Medical Center, Glenn County's only hospital. The Hospital is expected to break ground on a new facility within the next few months.
As in the past this year’s dinner will take place at the late Cal Worthington’s Ranch, which is located at the base of the beautiful foothills West of Orland. What's new this year is a Hawaiian-themed luau. Guests can escape to a tropical paradise, with music by the Pacific Coast’s premier Jimmy Buffet tribute band, "Garratt Wilkin and the Parrotheads".
The $125 dollar ticket price includes dinner, dessert, entertainment and a hosted bar with Mai Tai and Margarita specialty drinks, in addition to other beverages. There is also a silent and live auction ... among the many featured items are art, wine, a kayak, and two exclusive Hawaiian vacations.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m, with dinner served at 7 p.m. It will feature a variety of dishes; whole-roasted Kahlua pork, grilled skewers, tropical rice and a lush island salad. The desserts of the evening will feature a delicious ice cream sundae bar.
Tickets are available through the Human Resources Department of Glenn Medical Center, at (530) 934-1881.
