A former Chico physician's assistant charged for three sexual assaults near the Chico State campus changed his plea to guilty today in a Butte County courtroom.

Lonnie Keith, 41, who was facing multiple rape and kidnapping charges for three incidents that took place in 2012, accepted a plea deal Thursday.

Keith pleaded guilty to one count of rape and three counts of kidnapping and in exchange now faces an upper term prison sentence of 26 years, but he will not face a life sentence. Charges of administering a controlled substance and tying and binding were dismissed. Keith will be sentenced September 17 at 1:30 p.m.

Keith was arrested in January of 2013 when police found bedding, syringes, gloves and nylons inside his car during a traffic stop.

In all the cases, the victims were reportedly injected with a sedative before having their hands and feet bound with zip ties and their eyes covered with tape.

Prosecuting attorney Stacy Edwards told Action News Now all three victims were satisfied with the agreement.
