Some Welcome Changes Ahead For Your Extended Forecast

Jul 17, 2015 10:35 AM by Cort Klopping

Mostly sunny skies, and above average temperatures ahead for your Friday forecast. Temperatures are starting out in the high 60's to mid 70's in the valley, and in the high 40's to low 60's in the mountains. Afternoon high temperatures are projected to climb into the high 90's to around 102 degrees in the valley, and into the mid 80's to mid 90's in the mountains. There will be some high clouds tracking South through the region today, but mostly sunny skies will still dominate the region. There will be a slight chance of light showers in the far northern zones of the state tonight. Winds will shift today, and become out of the Southwest to 10mph in the afternoon.

Temperatures will be slightly cooler this weekend, with valley areas projecting highs in the mid to high 90's. Monsoonal moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Delores could track up into the north state late this weekend. There will be a slight chance for showers returning to the region on Sunday, with the best potential resting in the mountains. That chance for showers will continue through the early part of next week. Temperatures will become significantly cooler towards the middle to latter part of next week. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday, and a wonderful weekend!
