Some North State races still too close to call

It will still be a few days until we get a clearer picture of how some too close to call Butte County races will shake out following Tuesday elections.

Officials at Butte County's Elections Office say they will release an interim vote tally this coming Tuesday. The office is still processing and counting more than 15,000 votes, including mail-in and provisional ballots.

While the final vote count isn't expected until later this month, all but three races appear to be decided.

The third open seat is still in question for the Oroville City Council race. Candidates Art Hately and Jack Berry appear to have secured their seats as the top two vote getters, but only 11 votes separate candidates Del Rosario and Mark Grover.

In the race for the Biggs Unified School District, only two votes separate third and fourth place between Dennis Slusser and Terry Lattermore.

The race for the Manzanita Elementary School District in Gridley is also close, there is currently a tie for second place between Chris Alexander and Dave Dulai, with each candidate receiving 73 votes.
