STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a small plane with five people on board made an emergency landing on a southern New Jersey highway.
No one aboard the plane or on the ground was injured when the plane safely touched down shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday on Route 72 in Stafford Township. It landed near a home improvement store and caused some traffic delays in the area, though no major issues were reported.
Route 72 is one of the main roads in the Ocean County community. It leads to and from the Jersey shore.
The names of those on board have not been released.
Investigators have not yet determined what caused the pilot to make the emergency landing. They say the investigation is ongoing.
