Small earthquake reported in Plumas County

The U.S. Geological Survey is reporting a small earthquake hit near Chester in Plumas County late Thursday morning.

The 2.8-magnitude quake struck about six miles below the earth's surface, just after 11 a.m., about 10 miles southwest of Chester, and 34 miles northeast of Paradise.

At least four people have told Action News Now they felt the quake.
