Small earthquake rattles rural area of Central California

AVENAL, Calif. (AP) - A small earthquake has rattled a rural area of Central California but there were no reports of damage or injury.

The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude 3.2 quake struck at 3:59 a.m. Tuesday about 11 miles southeast of Avenal in Kings County.

The USGS says the quake near Kettleman City occurred at a depth of about 5.6 miles.

An Avenal police dispatcher says there have been no calls regarding the quake.
