It was a hot Labor Day around the North State, with many Valley locations seeing highs near 100. High pressure will slowly weaken over the rest of the week in response to a series of weak disturbances moving through the Pacific Northwest, which will allow our temperatures to slowly cool this week. Nothing but sunshine is in our forecast.
It will continue to be smoky near the Oregon border, due to smoke from the Happy Camp Complex fires burning in Siskiyou County. Fire danger in the Valley will increase later this week, when we see a light north wind develop in the Valley, about 5 to 15 mph on Wednesday.
