A weather disturbance moved into Oregon and far northern California on Wednesday, sparking yet more afternoon thunderstorms in Trinity, Siskiyou and northern Shasta counties. These storms have mostly quieted down, and what's left should completely shut down overnight.
This disturbance has kept high pressure from strengthening and has enhanced the delta breeze, leading to a comfortable August afternoon around the North State. The low will move northward Thursday, allowing high pressure to slowly regain strength. Our high temperatures will warm to near average (for August) by the weekend, then stay there into next week.
Overall, not bad for August!
