It has been thirteen years since Red Bluff Police Officer David Mobilio was gunned down at a local gas station, but his legacy continues to live on thanks to the Red Bluff Police Department and other North State Law Enforcement agencies.

The department took to social media Thursday to pay tribute to Mobilio, posting several tributes to the slain officer on their Facebook page. Mobilio is remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his warm sense of humor, gentle personality and passion for his work.

On the morning of November 19, 2002 Mobilio was shot in the head while putting gas into his patrol car.

Three years later his killer, Andrew McCrae was sentenced to death. McCrae told investigators he shot Mobilio as a way to fight back against police brutality. He remains on death row at San Quentin State Prison.
