A portion of the Skyway, closed overnight Wednesday due to a fatal accident, is back open.

Police were called out to the scene around 12:30 Wednesday morning for a report of a man being hit by truck.

Investigators say the driver of the Chevy pickup was traveling westbound on the Skyway when he struck a man along the shoulder.

The 19-year-old driver reportedly pulled over to a nearby gas station and was questioned by police.

No word yet if the man will face any charges.

Investigators are still trying to figure out if alcohol or drugs played a factor into the accident.

The victim was taken to Enloe Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.

Police are withholding his identity, pending notification of family members.

The westbound lane of the Skyway was closed overnight Wednesday, and authorities had one-way traffic control going between Potter Road and Bruce Road as they investigated the scene.
