SAN RAFAEL, Calif. (AP) - Police in Marin County say a six-hour standoff with a 72-year-old man at a home ended when the man surrendered to officers.
Police went to the home in Greenbrae around 2:45 p.m. Monday after a woman reported that her husband was intoxicated and had threatened to get his gun.
Central Marin police Capt. Nick Valeri tells the Marin Independent Journal (http://bit.ly/1fbYtz5) the woman was able to leave the house, but the man, identified as Gary Charlstrom, locked himself inside.
Police were able to eventually get Charlstrom on the phone using a cellphone they tossed into the home. He surrendered shortly before 9 p.m., and police took him away for questioning.
