Silver Alert issued for missing Trinity County man

A Silver Alert has been activated by the California Highway Patrol as Trinity County authorities are searching for a missing 81-year-old Douglas man.

According to the Trinity County Sheriff's Department, Chester Stygar has been missing since approximately 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, when he walked away from his Douglas home.

Stygar is an 81-year-old white man with gray hair and blue eyes. He is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. Stygar was last seen wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans and a cowboy hat.

Stygar suffers from a medical condition and sheriff's officials fear he may have become disoriented.
