Sierra Pacific Industries announced today that the Sierra Pacific Foundation will give a total of $1 million over the next five years toward the development of a new One SAFE Place in Redding.
The gift from Sierra Pacific will only cover one-fifth of the new shelter, the Sierra House, which will more than double One SAFE Place’s current capabilities for helping victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
“We are pleased to partner with this tremendous organization. Our gift is a challenge to the community to support One SAFE Place’s ambitious undertaking to build a shelter that meets the needs of the community” said Sierra Pacific Foundation President Carolyn Emmerson Dietz.
The mission of One SAFE Place is to provide intervention and safety to a community affected by sexual and domestic abuse.
