Redding police are investigating after a shot was fired into the 7-Eleven on Eureka Way, just hours after gunshots were fired into the Puerta Vallarta restaurant down the road.

According to the police department, officers responded a little before 11 p.m., when they arrived at the store they found damage to a window on the south side of the building.

The clerk, Muhammad Ahamad, told officers he was working behind the counter when one of the window panes suddenly shattered.

Earlier in the evening, Redding police arrested a suspect they believe fired a gun into the Puerto Vallarta restaurant at 2315 Eureka Way. Officer however were unable to recover a gun so the suspect, 37-year-old Jeffery M. Brown of San Francisco, is only facing a resisting arrest charge.

At this time it is unknown if there is a connection between the two shootings.

Anyone with information on either incident is asked to call the Redding Police Department.
