Two Shingletown residents have been charged with supplying alcohol to a group of minors who were involved in a crash on Highway 44 just hours later.

The crash happened in the early morning hours of June 20, and according to the California Highway Patrol, involved a single vehicle with 10 occupants. All of the occupants were found to be under the influence of alcohol, and nine of them were under the age of 21.

In the days after the crash the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control launched an investigation and determined Trevor Richard Lackie, 34, and Alex Andrew Mello, 25, both of Shingletown, gave alcohol to the minors involved.

Lackie and Mello are scheduled to appear in the Shasta County Superior Court on November 16, 2015. They face up to one year in jail and up to a $1,000.00 fine or both.
